Hello and welcome, CST Students!

If we haven’t met yet, we’re CUNY2X Tech—a program partnering with the CST Department to support and guide Computer Systems Technology students from graduation to successful careers in tech. Our mission is to increase the number of CST graduates who secure full-time roles in the tech industry immediately after graduation. To make this happen, we’re working closely with the Tech Talent Pipeline to create more opportunities for CST students and equip you with the skills and resources for a successful career.

In this first edition of our newsletter, we’ll share our upcoming events, services and highlights designed to support your journey in tech.

Workshop Series

CUNY2X Tech is hosting our first online event our Resume Workshop as Part 1 of the Career Foundations Series. Our academic advisor, Arthur Chisolm, will lead this session as the first in a four-part series through out the remainder of the semester.

This workshop is tailored for CST students and aims to assist them in creating a technical resume using best practices. All CST students freshman or senior are welome to join. Please fill out the google form to secure your spot. Reserve here. Please be aware that Zoom link will be sent out day of.

Advisement:

CUNY2X Tech offers advisement services with our career coach, Arthur Chisolm, and CUNY Office Assistant, Kimberly. Arthur provides expert guidance on resume building, career exploration, and more to help students become career-ready. We have two dedicated GitHub repositories for internship opportunities—one for Software Development and one for Data Science. These repositories are filled with postings tailored to help you kickstart your career!

All internships are based in New York, with options for remote, hybrid, and in-person roles. The repositories are regularly updated as applications open and close, so keep an eye out for new opportunities.

Highlight of the Month

This month we have started the Tech Talent Pipleine Residency with a corhort of 40 CST students.

^{TTPR is a 1 Year intensive program where participants receive technical training, build resume ready projects, professional development, and are guided by industry informed coaches to be competitive candidates in the work force.}
