Girls With Impact — a national nonprofit equipping young women with real-world business and career skills — is offering no-cost, live-online programs starting January 12 & February 9:
Career Accelerator Series (ages 18–24)
Build workplace confidence, networking skills, time management, goal-setting, and professional communication. Earn a digital micro-credential to add to LinkedIn and resumes.

Business & Leadership Academy (ages 14–24)
Turn ideas into action. Learn entrepreneurship, leadership, financial basics, and presentation skills — and graduate with a Business & Leadership micro-credential.
Programs are offered virtually, on evenings and weekends, and include small-group learning and instructor support.

Coding it Forward Fellowship Opportunity

If your a student or early-career technologists committed to public service and problem solving, consider this opportunity.
For ten weeks over the summer, Fellows have the chance to innovate in a local, state, or federal government office and modernize the public services our communities need to thrive. We are currently hiring for roles in cybersecurity, data, design, product management, and software engineering.
I’ve attached a one-pager that further details our Fellowship along with this listing of upcoming information sessions. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until Monday, January 19th.
CUNY Tech Prep
CUNY Tech Prep is a yearlong technical and professional development program for CUNY computer science and related majors to learn in-demand technologies, master professional soft skills, and land great tech jobs in NYC.
Requirements:
1. You NEED a Gmail account to apply. Please make sure you are logged into it before you start.
2. You will be required to upload your unofficial transcript from CUNYFirst and your resume at the end of the application Make sure both are formatted as PDFs before you start (on CUNYFirst, you can select "print" on the document. Within the print popup, click "PDF" then "save as PDF" to save a file you can upload).
3. Finally, write and save your long answer questions on a separate platform to save in case of data loss during submission.

Civil Service Pathways Fellowship 🏢
The Department of Citywide Administrative Services' Civil Service Pathways Fellowship (CSPF) is a two-year program for City University of New York (CUNY) graduates designed to create a pipeline from college to a career in civil service. The fellowship is full-time and offers a competitive salary and benefits.
Selected candidates are hired into high-demand positions across the City in one of six professional/career tracks:
Policy and Program Analysis ($48,956)

Medicaid Tech Capacity Catalyst Fellow
The Tech Talent Project is excited to seek out a Medicaid Tech Capacity Catalyst Fellow who will work closely with the National Association of Medicaid Directors. NAMD is the national membership organization representing all 56 state and territory Medicaid agencies and provides training, peer support, and policy leadership to help Medicaid programs serve more than almost 80 million beneficiaries.
The Medicaid Delivery Innovation Initiative (MDII) partners with states to tap into tech expertise to rapidly improve Medicaid program delivery and build long-term internal technical capacity, at no cost to states. MDII delivers actionable recommendations and near-term implementation to partner states, while helping hire in-house technical talent to sustain momentum. Apply by January 6th
U.S. Tech Force
The newly launched U.S. Tech Force is recruiting an IT Specialist (Data Management) for 2-year federal appointments across agencies. This role leads IT data engineering projects, including data management initiatives, system testing strategies, and quality assurance protocols. Requires one year of specialized experience with SQL, data engineering coordination (Python, R, Power BI, Tableau, AWS/Azure), end-to-end project management, technical communication, and building secure, scalable solutions. This position is set at the GS-14 level. Apply by January 16th.
The newly launched U.S. Tech Force is recruiting an IT Software Engineer to lead major IT application development projects across federal agencies. This role involves planning and executing software design, development, testing, and implementation; leveraging AI-assisted development tools; serving as technical lead for large-scale initiatives; and leading project teams. Requires specialized experience coordinating software work (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, .NET, Spring, React, Node), running projects end-to-end, solving problems with secure/scalable solutions, and explaining technical concepts to diverse audiences. CUNY PIT Lab
The CUNY PIT Lab would like to invite you, your students and any alums that you might know to present their open data projects to the public at the NYC PIT Pop-Up in the World Trade Center Oculus as part of Open Data Week: Monday March 23rd to Friday 27th, 2026.

The CUNY Public Interest Tech Lab manages the PIT Pop-U and will work with students and alumni to set up presentations and optionally stream/record them online, connect them with the public interest tech community, and help them build their presentation skills with lots of practice presenting to the public.
Open Data Week welcomes ideas for in-person or virtual events, whether applicants have a rough sketch, a grand vision, or anything in between. Every proposal must meet at least one of the following criteria:
• It relates to a dataset on NYC Open Data
• It relates to publicly available data, specifically about NYC
• It relates to publicly available data about a broader area than NYC, if NYC is used as the main example
• It relates to open data conceptually and is something that might benefit NYC
Any student interested in presenting their work in-person may be able to make use of CUNY PIT Lab’s NYC PIT Pop-Up as a potential venue. This public-facing space located in the Oculus/World Trade Center offers access to A/V equipment, WiFI, and other resources. Any student, faculty or alum that would like to demo their project at the Pop-Up during Open Data Week (from Monday 3/23/26 through Friday 3/27/26; 2PM - 6PM) should contact us directly at [email protected].

You’re invited to Wikipedia Day NYC 2026 to help us celebrate the 25th birthday of Wikipedia, the biggest online encyclopedia on the internet! Co-hosted with Wikimedia DC and the Wikimedia Foundation, together we will explore the past, present, and future of the free knowledge movement, and celebrate all the people, communities and ideas that make Wikipedia the backbone of the internet.

Security protocols: On-site airport style security procedures will be in place, including bag checks and metal detectors. Please allow extra time when entering the building.
Code of Conduct: All attendees must abide by Wikimedia NYC's Code of Conduct and Photo Consent Policy.
