CUNY2X is bringing back the hit series Career Foundations where students will learn the best tips and tricks to make there way to a career in tech!

We are kicking off the first part of this series ‘Resume Readiness” where you will learn how to build a tech resume that stands out to employers.

CUNY2X is here to help you find your place in tech—whether you’re a freshman just starting out or a senior preparing for graduation. No matter where you are in your journey, we’re excited to meet you and support your growth in this industry.

Internship Opportunities

CUNY Spring Forward Internship Program

Applications open September 9, 2025

For CUNY undergrads with no prior paid internship experience (including Career Launch, Spring Forward, College Bridge, Reading Corps)

Eligibility:

Open to all CUNY undergraduates, 18+

Priority: Freshmen, Sophomores, and Community College students

2.0+ GPA and eligible to work in the U.S.

Details:

$20/hour for 15 hours/week

Runs early March – early May 2026

Work hours: weekdays between 8 AM – 6 PM

Sprintership® - Winter 2026 Sprint Internship

  • Runs January 5–23, 2026 — aligns perfectly with Winter Session!

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week (Mon–Fri) — in-person, remote, or hybrid (varies by employer)

    • Eligibility:

    • CUNY undergrads (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior)

    • Enrolled Fall 2025, 2.0+ GPA, 18+ by Nov 1, 2025

    • Details:

    • Teams of 3–5 students work on a Challenge Project for a tech company

    • $15+/hour pay + two career workshops

    • 50% of past Sprinterns secured summer internships (many with the same company)

    • A strong path toward Summer 2026 internships or full-time jobs

Google’s 2026 U.S. Apprenticeship Program! Applications are now open.

Google will offer five apprenticeship tracks in the United States this year, located across its offices in Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, and New York. Candidates are encouraged to review the application requirements and apply before the deadline - September 11, 2025. Candidates will need to submit an updated resume with their application. Google’s U.S. Apprenticeships are paid, structured learning and development opportunities that provide on-the-job training, related technical instruction, and career development workshops. During the program, apprentices complete the corresponding Google Career Certificate and gain practical experience on a Google team. Upon successful completion of this 18-month program, apprentices receive a nationally-recognized credential certified by the U.S. Department of Labor.Professional tracks currently offered:

  • Data Analytics

  • Digital Marketing

  • Information Technology

  • Project Management

  • User Experience (UX) Design

IBM – Summer 2026 Internships

 
IBM’s Summer Internship Program provides students with hands-on experience at the intersection of innovation and impact. As an intern, you’ll work with leading experts, gain exposure to real client projects, and receive mentorship to build both technical and business skills, all while exploring a career in tech related fields. 

  • Applicant Eligibility: Open to current college students interested in business, technology, and sales.  Internship tracks include Data Science, Platform Engineering, Technical Solutions, Software Development, Hardware Development, Product Management, Business Technology, HR, Consulting, Design & UX, Research, and more. 

  • Timeline and Pay: Internship opportunities begin in Summer 2026. Pay varies by role and location, with salary range for these positions from 65K-126K.   

  • Location: New York City is one of IBM’s hiring cities, so CUNY applicants should filter their internship search by location for opportunities within NYC.
