Welcome to the third week of January! CUNY2X is excited to share new opportunities for you to explore.

In this week’s newsletter, we’ve added more opportunities to our Software Development repository. Additionally, you’ll find exciting opportunities with Google, Bloomberg, NJ Transit, and more!

Google Software Engineer Program (G-SWEP)

What is G-SWEP? 

G-SWEP is a free, 10-week immersive program designed exclusively for Computer Science students. It provides the essential skills and career readiness needed to thrive in the tech industry. This transformative program has already helped 155 students secure internships and full-time roles at leading companies such as Accenture, Apple, Bloomberg, NASA, and Oracle. 

📅 Key Details: 

  • Application Period: January 13th – January 27th 

  • Eligibility: Open to Computer Science students, with a focus on first-generation and BIPOC students. Even if you’re unsure whether you’re a fit, we encourage you to apply!

NJ TRANSIT 

NJ TRANSIT is the nation's third-largest provider of bus, rail, and light rail transit, connecting millions of residents across New Jersey and surrounding areas. As a vital part of the region’s infrastructure, NJ TRANSIT is committed to providing safe, reliable, and convenient public transportation to its customers.

NJ TRANSIT is now accepting applications for its paid Summer Internship Program for Summer 2025! This exciting program aims to welcome 100 interns across various fields, including IT, HR, Engineering, Computer Science, Accounting, Criminal Justice, and more. A flyer is linked here and also attached to this email.

Program Details:

Duration: 10 weeks (June to August)

Hours: 40 hours per week

Format: Fully in-person and hybrid positions available (no remote options)

Compensation: $18–$28/hour (based on major and year in school)

Locations: Various locations, with most positions at NJ TRANSIT Headquarters in Newark, NJ

Eligibility: Students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university for the Fall 2025 semester.

Bloomberg Bpuzzled

Bloomberg invites you to compete in our brand new puzzle competition - BPUZZLED!

Created by Bloomberg Engineers, BPUZZLED is a competition where teams of up to four use creativity and teamwork to solve logic puzzles themed to cities around the world. The winning team will be flown to London to compete in the global finals. Come along to participate in some friendly competition and race to the finish!

Participants will only need a laptop and a competitive spirit to take part.

LifeSci NYC Internship Program Info Session

The LifeSci NYC Internship Program offers the chance to complete a single application link to gain access to paid internship and job opportunities at dozens of NYC life science companies and organizations. The program is open to all currently enrolled NYC students, as well as recent graduates (spring 2023 or later). Students from all majors are eligible, as a wide range of science, tech and business roles are offered. Our upcoming Virtual Info Session especially for City Tech students will explain the application process, describe the breadth of roles available, provide tips on creating a strong application, and include an opportunity for Q&A.
