IBM AT CITY TECH
The Data Science Club is excited to host an upcoming event, "Explore the Future of Tech with IBM Z!", on December 12, 2024, from 12:45 PM to 2:00 PM in Room A-109. This event offers a unique opportunity for students to learn about IBM Z, its role in powering industries such as finance, healthcare, and cybersecurity, and how it can open doors to high-demand tech careers.
We’ll have a special guest from IBM sharing insights about mainframe technology and career opportunities. There will also be free pizza and drinks to enjoy!

CUNY2X Tech Final Workshop
CUNY2X is hosting our final workshop in the Career and Foundations Series called “Applying for ROLES”. Happening on December 10th from 12 to 1 PM on Zoom. In this session, you'll learn how to use LinkedIn to apply for jobs, find connections for informational meetings, leverage your existing network, and effectively track your applications. After attending, you'll have the foundations to apply for positions and land your dream roles. With the job market opening on January 1st, now is the perfect time to start pursuing your goals!
The purpose of this 4 part series is to get you all ready for January when the flood gates for jobs opens we hope you all can attend our last session of the year.

The primary goal of CUNY2X is to support students in securing internships and graduating with full-time job opportunities. We currently offer 2 growing repos of internships—one focused on software development, IT Operations and the other on data science. If you're interested, we encourage you to explore and apply to these opportunities.

Additional Internship Opportunity
Build4Good is a an initiative of New America, is a paid mentorship program that matches post-secondary students who are majoring in computer science, integrated digital media, UI/UX design, or other technology-related fields to nonprofits and other mission-driven organizations with technology-specific project needs.
They are recruiting our 6th cohort of build4good interns and reaching out to those who may know of higher ed students interested in a summer 2025 internship.
They recruit and match interns who are knowledgeable in computer science, technology, and design, and their interests with mission-driven nonprofit host organizations. Throughout the summer, the build4good team provides mentoring and skill-building workshops with the cohort of interns, while the students complete projects with their host organizations.
This year, student applications are due at 11:59 pm PT on January 24, 2025. They
will be hosting virtual student application workshops to help interested student applicants answer questions, provide guidance on curating resumes, and how applicants can share experiences and interests.
