March is full of excitement here at CUNY2X. This month we have a few interesting workshops coming up as well as networking opportunities and Plan Week.

Plan Week

Plan Week activities are emailed to students each fall and spring semester, and are designed to prepare you for advisement and registration for the next session and/or semester and beyond. You can also work through these exercises at any time, whether or not it is officially Plan Week. These activities are designed to ensure you are taking the right courses and asking the right questions to stay on the path to graduation and achieving your future goals.

Come and be a part of the Career Foundations Series Part 3, as we delve into the essential aspects of GitHub.

Industry Trek with JP Morgan Chase

The Jobs Council Industry Treks offer exclusive office visits to some of New York’s top employers. At JPMorgan Chase's Industry Trek, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in interactive career readiness sessions, hear directly from recruiters about navigating the hiring process, and gain insights from CUNY alumni and early career professionals on their experiences in the field.

BlackRock

New York Jobs CEO Council Industry Trek at BlackRock on Thursday, March 27, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM.

This event will allow students to visit BlackRock’s office, hear from recruiters about internship opportunities, network with CUNY alumni, and participate in a professional development session. It's a great way for students to gain insights into career pathways at one of the world's leading investment firms.

Eligibility:

  • Open to Freshman and Sophomore CUNY students (Class of 2027 or 2028)

  • Leadership experience required (resume upload needed for registration)

  • Limited spots available—students will be contacted if selected.

Internships

A two-day event designed for exceptional first- and second-year undergraduates interested in Quantitative Research, Software Engineering, and Trading.

This program offers a chance to:

Explore Citadel and Citadel Securities, leading firms in global finance and market making

Learn about internship and full-time opportunities

Intern, Data Science and Analytics

Overview

As a Data Science & Analytics Intern, you will be responsible for analysis/reporting, data strategy, and optimization recommendations to enable data-driven programs. The role combines a passion for finding opportunity areas in the data analytics program supported by deep analysis and insights, all stemming from your natural curiosity and need to understand the "why" behind data.

Responsibilities

What you’ll do

• Assist the team in analyzing content and identifying overall program success and marketing opportunities that could increase the performance of the site

• Responsible for assisting the team with keyword research, dashboard creation, maintenance, and updates, aimed to improve overall analytics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

• A storyteller, be able to make sense of data and extrapolate meaningful and actionable insights

• Experience in creating and delivering presentations using PowerPoint

• Experience with Adobe Analytics, Google Search Console, dashboarding (tableau/Power BI), Google data studio, excel

• Experience with Python a plus

Eligibility

  • You are a career-minded college senior, recent college graduate, career changer, or reentering the workforce after taking some time off

  • You are eligible to work in the U.S

  • Tell us if you are available to work 40 hours per week. If not, what is your availability? We offer flexible schedules to work around school or other commitments.
